Issue 7 - Happy Holidays 

Seasons Greetings!

We at Animal Profiling International wanted to take a moment to wish you a wonderful holiday season and give thanks for the great support that API has received from people like you within the cattle industry in 2006.

When API launched its novel, cost-effective screening system to locate Bovine Viral Diarrhea persistently infected animals (BVD PI) using PCR technology it began a very exciting year for us and for the customers that we were able to serve.  Producers who had searched for a low-cost solution to test for this difficult-to-discover virus were now able to locate this new opportunity.  API was able to focus its efforts on testing cattle at the farm and ranch - the source where they are created.  This approach has proven to be the best to not only control, but potentially eliminate BVD from our cattle population.

API has been fortunate to both sponsor and participate in producer meetings in states coast-to-coast with a goal of educating producers and veterinarians about how PI's are formed and how the industry can locate them before they are able to spread this highly contagious disease.  We also discussed how vaccination programs and biosecurity are other important aspects of BVD control.  It is this effort that is helping to make a difference in the battle against this costly disease.  If you would like API to be part of your meetings please contact us and we would be happy to discuss ways to assist efforts in educating your clients and producers.

Speaking with producer groups continues to enlighten us on the value that individual identification provides in managing their herds.  The announcement that the NAIS would remain voluntary was a disappointment to some, and joyous news to others.  Regardless of whatever side of that coin is preferred, API's WriteTAG System remains an innovative approach that works and protects information in whatever setup the government selects for the cattle industry. 

The WriteTAG System continues to be the simplest, yet most advanced electronic identification system available today.  Keeping the information with the animal allows for seamless integration and instant data retrieval to discover vital aspects of an animal including age, source, and health information - keys for receiving valuable pricing premiums for animals.

API aims to continue launching new and innovative products in 2007 intended to focus on our mission of achieving management over medicine.  Again, we want to thank you for the tremendous support we have received and look forward to developing new relationships over the new year.
