ANIMAL PROFILING RECIEVES 840 USDA APPROVAL FOR WRITETAG™ SYSTEM

API continues to provide advanced marketing tools to cattlemen

PORTLAND, OR — March 31, 2009 — Animal Profiling International (API), a company dedicated to the improvement of animal health management and food safety through the application of technology solutions, announced today the USDA's approval of its WriteTAG™ electronic herd management system as an official identification device.

This approval through USDA will allow the WriteTAG system to bear the official US symbol and the 840 country code, which is used in federal and state animal health programs and eases interstate movement. The 840 tag also meets Country of Origin Labeling requirements since only cattle born in the US can have an 840 tag.

"Certain advantages hinge on the official identification of cattle, and API is now offering the tool required to take advantage of these opportunities," said Bruce Hoffman, president of API.

"This important development not only eases interstate movement, but WriteTAG-840 official eartags can also be used in industry programs and other marketing opportunities," stated Hoffman

API will continue its goal of providing "management over medicine" technologies to the cattle industry. "USDA's recognition of the WriteTAG System complements API's leading testing products designed to identify cattle at risk for Bovine Viral Diarrhea and Bovine Respiratory Disease. That along with the 840 approval further enhances the marketing opportunities for cattle producers," stated Ray R. Rogers Chairman & CEO of API.
